After retiring nearly seven years ago, WWE legend and all-time megastar, Shawn Michael has been rumored to be coming back to the company for a Match at Royal Rumble.

The report claims that WWE is interested in booking Shawn Michaels in a match against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble in January. When asked about a possible match with Shawn Michaels, AJ Styles noted that he would love to face the WWE Hall of Famer, but as of the moment, it’s yet to be consolidated.

According to Ringside News, the WWE is planning to make the 2017 Royal Rumble in San Antonio a big event due to being its 30th anniversary. Shawn Michael and Stone Cold Steve Austin are set to appear while The Undertaker may likely not be in attendance.

On the other hand, Justin LaBar of Wrestle Zone has said fans should expect to see Angle in the WWE next year and it could happen as early as the Royal Rumble in January. He pointed out that both Angle and the WWE need it to happen not just for their own personal closure but for all the fans wanting it to happen.

The edge Angel is having is that beating to selling out the 65,000-seater Alamodome for the 2017 Royal Rumble in San Antonio and one sure way to achieve this goal is to have former superstars return at the event.

The 47-year-old superstar would definitely be cheered with a standing ovation by the San Antonio crowd; which could give birth to a feud that would ultimately culminate into a match WrestleMania 33.

However, these are just rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed yet. But one thing is for sure: it is only a matter of time before Angle makes his WWE return.
