Huge Update On AJ Styles Retirement: AJ Styles Announces Leaving After WretleMania 34 – See What He Told WWE

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, AJ Styles WWE contract runs till 2019, which is just the age for his retirement. Word is that, the WWE Champion is planning to retire early from the stressful life that accompanies being a wrestler especially in the WWE.

In an interview recently with FM 97.9 Houston, AJ Styles made several striking notes including his life as one of the finest wrestlers who wrestles in the largest wrestling promotion in the world, the WWE.

He also talked about his life on the road in relation to the difficulty it brings upon his dear family; with his wife of 17 years, Wendy, and their four children – Ajay, Avery, Albey, and Anney.

Having considered all of that and what the future holds for him, the 40-year-old superstar announced that he plans to retire in a couple of years and take pleasure in the fruits of his hard labor with his wife.

Yes, Styles tells everyone week in and week out that he is the best wrestler in the world for the past three years. And despite his amazing talents and in-ring dexterity, “The Phenomenal One” has been very vocal about the possibility of early retirement at the age of 42 years old.

Styles said, “The older you get, the less energy you have to maintain it. It is what it is, but if you still have that drive and you can still do it, why not? Get in the gym and get it done, and look good in the meantime. Work hard now, you enjoy it later. In a couple of years, I’ll be able to catch every football game, every baseball game, every basketball game, cheerleading, gymnastics, whatever they’re in.”

While that retirement possibility rocks, worthy to note that it is unusual to have a wrestler walk away from the business in the fashion Styles plans to do. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer went a step ahead to note that, Styles could easily negotiate a lighter schedule for his next contract, just as Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and whatnot.

Styles is actually a big guy in the WWE, earning very great despite the fact that he joined the company just in 2016. In turn, WWE has wasted no time to pin it on him, having the assurance that they could lean on him per time and yes, every night.

However, knowing how wonderful and invaluable Styles performances are, WWE may just extend his contract and place him on the same seat of John Cena and Randy Orton, who wrestles very minimally. All the same, the ball is in Styles’ court, to decide if he still wants to wrestle past 2019 or not.
