One of the most powerful tag teams ever in the history of WWE The Shield that was made up of former world heavyweight champions, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and they have all become babyfaces in the WWE.
It is revealed that the initial plan for the formation of the Shield was to be mercenaries for CM Punk but as things went wrong somewhere, the trio became very powerful fellows in the company until Seth Rollins betrayed the team by selling out to the Authority Triple H.
The team separated after they have crossed path with the Authority. Reports states that After Payback 2014, Triple H toppled the SHIELD. Seth Rollins sold out – in his words, Seth “bought in” to the Authority and laid chair shots on Ambrose and Reigns. It was a heel turn perfectly planned and executed.
More so, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose went their own way, often crossing paths in pay per views. But the cherry on the cake was this year’s Money in the Bank pay per view. It was a night where every member held the WWE Heavyweight Championship (as it was called then). Ever since then, the three have become prominent faces in their respective brands. In fact, Rollins and Ambrose were the first picks for RAW and SmackDown Live respectively with Reigns not too not far behind.
There is a rumor saying that The Shield is coming back as tag team members again after the breakup. The rumor was initiate after the recent the recent happenings at one of the WWE Monday night RAW at the fatal four way match against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Big Cass and Kevin and Triple H invading the show and making KO win the match. This has been so disturbing for Seth Rollins who thought that he would have won if Triple H had not showed up.
