WWE NEWS: Former WWE Champion John Cena Finally Returns — See Cena’s Opponent…

John Cena crying

Afer WWE No Mercy, the WWE Universe expected that we’d seen the last of John Cena for the rest of 2016.

Since failing to recapture the WWE World Championship at WWE No Mercy in a triple threat match against AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose, Cena has taken a hiatus from WWE programming for the next two months to film Season 2 of FOX Network’s American Grit television series.

John Cena has become a hot commodity in the mainstream media over the past year. He’s begun to have some success in Hollywood and he may even be taking a starring role in a Marvel superhero movie. Cena is getting a lot of opportunities outside of WWE that are forcing him to take more time away from WWE. It is giving WWE officials the incentive to create new stars while Cena continues to promote the company.

Despite all of his commitments outside of WWE, John Cena still claims that he’s still as committed to WWE as he ever has been. He’ll be back on SmackDown and WWE television full-time at the end of December or in early January. However, the WWE Universe may be surprised to see him back inside a WWE ring much sooner than that. In fact, the 15 time WWE World Champion will be in Toronto this November.

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon of SmackDown recently challenged Raw’s Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley to three traditional WWE Survivor Series elimination matches at the WWE Survivor Series PPV in Toronto. The first match will have both brands choose their top five women, tag teams, and the best five WWE Superstars to fight it out and determine if Raw or SmackDown is the best brand on WWE television.

WWE Survivor Series is going to be Monday Night Raw versus SmackDown Live that is also going to feature the highly anticipated rematch between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. Needless to say, WWE is doing everything they can to make sure that they don’t leave Toronto without having the greatest WWE Survivor Series PPV of all-time. That’s not an event John Cena will miss no matter how busy he is outside of WWE.

According to a new report, Cena is expected to return for the WWE Survivor Series PPV and will wrestle in one of the traditional elimination matches. It’ll most likely be the top five of Raw and SmackDown match that will be important for bragging rights.
