According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion turned mega-movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would likely not be in action at this spring’s WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium.

Prior to this time, there were reports that The Rock would not be making it at all to the AT&T Stadium owing to his engagement with the movie industry especially as the deal has an insurance implication. Then, The Rock was ruled out; everyone including WWE believed that The Rock wouldn’t appear but that belief was short-lived as “The Great One” later announced that he would eventually make it to the all-time grand show.

Then there came the question; “Who is The Rock going to face,” the WWE Universe asked in vain. Triple H and Brock Lesnar were picked. Triple H because they have an unfinished business from WrestleMania 31 and Brock Lesnar because of his strength and status.
However, Triple H has been ruled out following his feud with Roman Reigns which will naturally usher them to WrestleMania while Brock Lesnar is still unlikely; probably going to be wrestling Kevin Owens.

Then a rumor came forth on the WWE’s website that The Rock may likely face the Undertaker in April but once more there are doubts. In fact, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that there won’t be any matches involving The Rock at WrestleMania 32.

“(WWE) wants people to think that this is going to be a really big show, so, whatever idea that they have for (The Rock) is a pretty big idea. If it’s a small idea, it’s going to be a letdown. I thought, because of how big they made it, that he was going to wrestle, but I found out that he’s not. It’s not impossible that he’s going to wrestle, but there’s an insurance issue on it, and it hasn’t been resolved, and, right now, it doesn’t look like he’s going to wrestle.”

One concern now is, if The Rock does not do any wrestling at WrestleMania 32, then he would just make a non-wrestlers list with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin who noted on The Ross Report that he would make it to WrestleMania 32. In the interim, we await to see what WWE has in mind for them; whether they just want to use them to get the audience to attend the show or they have something special for them.
