CM Punk Reportedly Signed With WWE Just Before Survivor Series Arena

WarGames Main Event Survivor Series took place as WWE held its final premium live event of the year at Chicago’s Allstate Arena.

After Drew McIntyre and Judgment Day lost their big matches, CM Punk returned and stole the spotlight in a big way.

PW Insider reported that CM Punk officially signed with WWE today. The agreement between the two sides was reportedly reached during initial communications last week.

The contract is described as having a “multi-year term”, suggesting it is a multi-year arrangement.

Details of Punk’s schedule are still unknown, but he is expected to wrestle under his new talent contract.

There was discussion about postponing CM Punk’s return until January 2024 at the Royal Rumble in St. Petersburg, Florida.

However, sources suggested that this wait may have led to leaks within WWE regarding their plans.

The company facilitated CM Punk’s return by making Allstate Arena, a venue of historical significance to him, only a 20-minute drive from his home.

CM Punk made a lot of history in his Allstate arena and his series on Survivor gave him another moment.

Aside from appearing on FOX Sports’ WWE Backstage, this was CM Punk’s first WWE appearance since the Royal Rumble in January 2014.

Interestingly, TNT Sports released a “CM Punk Is #WWE” graphic that is reminiscent of the “#AllElite” graphic used for talent deals in AEW.

While there have been rumors about CM Punk’s possible return, it had already been confirmed that Randy Orton will be returning.

Nevertheless, the savior of the second city unexpectedly returned. WWE seemed to be prepared for this, as Punk announced new merchandise.
