Despite adopting the nickname “The People’s Champ,” The Rock seems to be perceived differently, especially after Cody Rhodes gave him a spot at WrestleMania 40.

The Cody Rhodes’ movement is gaining momentum, so it’s no wonder fans are flooding The Rock’s social media ahead of the WrestleMania 40 kickoff event.

On the recent Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock faced off against Roman Reigns, which came to a shocking end. Cody Rhodes introduced “The Great One” and forfeited his title shot at WrestleMania 40, sparking outrage among fans.

This led to fans campaigning for The Rock to give Cody Rhodes his 40th WrestleMania appearance. As the “We Want Cody” movement took on a life of its own, fans became even more enthusiastic.

The Rock uploaded a video to his Instagram of his journey on SmackDown last week while promoting the WrestleMania 40 kickoff event.

However, The Rock’s post ended up being flooded with comments saying “we want Cody” and other fans urging him to stay away from WrestleMania 40.

It has also been revealed that WWE intends for The Rock to take the #40 spot from Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. WWE has also gone to great lengths to keep The Rock’s plans secret.

Triple H was also informed of The Rock’s plans for WrestleMania 40 when he booked the Royal Rumble match.
