Ex WWE Stars Return To The Ring At The Indies

WWE is the dream of many wrestlers around the world but it ain’t so for everyone. Dyad left WWE NXT while in the midst of a prominent and stable storyline, The Schism.

Now they are Grizzled Young Veterans again and are back in the ring.

The two former stars appeared for the first time after leaving WWE. Zack Gibson and James Drake, known as The Grizzled Young Veterans, became free agents when their contracts expired on October 14.

During their time in WWE, the duo, former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, played notable roles in both NXT and NXT UK. They teamed up with Joe Gacy to form the Schism in 2022, and Ava later joined the faction.

On October 15 at DPW Live 15, The Grizzled Young Veterans made their first appearance after leaving WWE.

They responded to an open challenge from DPW Tag Team Champions The Workhorsemen, JD Drake and Anthony Henry.

The former NXT stars won the Proving Ground Challenge and earned a future opportunity to compete for the DPW Tag Team Championship. We’ll have to see what they can do next, as they both seem very serious about asserting their status.

They duo were involved in a storyline in NXT that they may not have liked. They also commented that it was nice to be called the grizzled young Veterans again.
