Killer Khan was a well-known WWE icon, known for his epic battles with legendary figures such as Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. Unfortunately, we have to announce the sad news that he has passed away at the age of 76.

Masashi Ozawa, known by his ring name Killer Khan, passed away from health complications around 10pm on Saturday. Local Japanese media reported that he was rushed to the hospital with a ruptured artery.

The former wrestler collapsed at the counter of a Tokyo-based restaurant, Jinjo Sakaba, where the tragic incident occurred.

Ozawa, a native of Niigata Prefecture, entered professional wrestling in 1971, competing against WWE icons such as Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, and maintained a friendship with Hogan outside of the ring.

In addition to his career as a professional wrestler, Ozawa branched out into the music industry in 2005, proving his versatility by debuting as a singer under the title Furusato Maka, which means “Japan’s Crown.”

After his retirement, he devoted himself to gourmet food and opened the izakaya “Kanchan” in Shinjuku.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was forced to close in 2021 due to the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to express our deepest condolences to Mr. Ozawa’s family and loved ones at this sad time.
