AEW Not Talking About Possible Negotiations With Brock Lesnar

According to a report recently making the wave on social media, Brock Lesnar has joined other WWE superstars in AEW and he reveals his reasons for making the big move.

This comes after Vince McMahon refused to use “part timers / special attractions” in WWE starting this year (which is pretty evident if you’ve seen the match-card for WrestleMania 37).

Vince reportedly thinks that it’s about time he listens to the fans and gives them what they want – pushing young talent and releasing old timers.

AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Vince’s mindset and here’s what he said:

“I’ve got tremendous respect for Vince. I really do. But let’s be honest – he has lost his mind. If he’s getting rid of the old timers, then why not get rid of himself first?

He thinks people don’t want to see the old wrestlers. WRONG. Vince is just not good at understanding fans anymore.

Fans say one thing, but they want something else. Yes, I know most fans on Social Media post about how young talent should be pushed and the old talent shouldn’t. But you know what they really want? They want the old timers to absolutely squash the new talent.

Chris Jericho explains why he doesnt think Brock Lesnar is really a free agent

I mean, there’s a reason why these ‘angry fans’ didn’t stop watching WWE after Goldberg defeated The Fiend last year. They’re still doing alright in terms of ratings, RAW and SmackDown. I think they do a solid 0.5-0.6 in the 18-49 demo and rank #1 most of the weeks.

Dynamite did solid ratings too, don’t get me wrong, but we haven’t been able to reach a 0.6 rating.

Then one day I decided to use Vince’s old formula of using old talent and I brought in Sting and our ratings went through the roof! On that night, I thought in my mind that Vince is really a genius, unlike what the fans think of him.

WWE star Brock Lesnar

That’s why I started bringing in more past names – Paul Wight, Christian Cage, and now Brock Lesnar!

No disrespect to anyone that I’ve signed so far, but Brock is AEW’s biggest signing till date. Unless we manage to sign The Undertaker somehow, this signing can’t be topped!”

Lesnar was also interviewed and below are the highlights from his interview:
