The Undertaker has revealed he almost died after a terrifying mistake during his Super Showdown match with Goldberg.

The two icons collided at WWE’s Saudi Arabia event in June last year and now the legendary star has opened up about the bout’s scariest moments.

During the match – which was heavily criticised by fans with the superstars themselves acknowledging things didn’t go to plan.

Goldberg tried to hoist Taker up for a Jackhammer, only for both men to fall to the ground and the latter almost landing on his neck.

Now, Undertaker has revealed he was centimetres away from suffering a potentially fatal injury.

Speaking in the trailer for the WWE Network’s new documentary series Last Ride, a clip was shown from the match as he said: ‘I was two inches away from making my wife a widow, and my kids fatherless.’

Taker – who is married to former WWE star Michelle McCool – looks to pull back the curtain like never before in the behind the scenes show.

The former world champion will address his own self doubt as he struggles with stepping away from the ring while not wanting to tarnish his legacy.

He explained: ‘I want them thinking “this guy’s got a lot left in the tank”.

If I can leave with that, I’ll be content I can walk away. I say that, but I’ve been saying it for a long time.’

Undertaker – whose real name is Mark Calloway – added he wants to avoid becoming a ‘parody’ of himself, but he is determined to go out on a high.

Goldberg

‘I’m either gonna go out with a match that’s fitting of The Undertaker at WretsleMania, or I’m going out on my shield, one way or another,’ he said.
