John Cena has kept his relationship with Shay Shariatzadeh fairly private ever since the two started dating, but on Monday speculation started popping up online that the 16-time WWE world champion had recently gotten engaged.

There is some photo evidence online that suggests that John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh are engaged to be married.

The @JohnCenaCrews social media accounts post regular updates on Cena and his latest projects and public appearances. The account posted a photo today of Cena posing with a fan in San Diego, California and you can see girlfriend Shay with a ring on her finger. Cena owns a home in San Diego and is regularly seen there with Shay.

Although nothing is confirmed, Cena’s recent Instagram activity only adds fuel to the rumor. Scroll down and you will see that Cena recently posted a photo of what appears to be a couple during their wedding. Another post from Cena simply reads, “Stone Cold Sweethearts – Say Yes.”

Cena and Shariatzedeh were first seen in public several months after Cena and Nikki Bella publicly announced that they were breaking up. They were first spotted together in public last March so they’ve been dating somewhere around a year. On Total Divas and Total Bellas, Cena was portrayed as someone who was not looking for marriage while Nikki was looking to settle down and have kids. If the engagement rumors are true, then it looks like Cena was ready to settle down sooner than he let on.

The whole thing began when a wrestling fan told Wrestling Inc. over the weekend that Cena and Shariatzadeh were in San Diego’s Belmont Park over the weekend, and that Shay was wearing a noticeably large diamond ring on her finger.

Fans then found a photo of Cena posted by Instagram user @kotm622, which showed her ring the background of a photo.

However, neither Neither Cena nor Shariatzadeh have confirmed the engagement as of this writing.

For The Record

Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009-12. Shortly after that he started a relationship with Nikki Bella, which culminated in the two getting engaged at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. However the pair announced they had called off engagement just one month before they were supposed to get married. Bella has since gotten engaged to Artem Chigvintsev and is currently pregnant with her first child.
