Konnan Calls Out Drew McIntyre’s Sword Gimmick For Being ‘Super Lame’

Drew McIntyre is known for many accomplishments and the sword he carries into the ring called Angela.

Named after Drew McIntyre’s own mother, this sword has sentimental value to the Scottish warrior, but it’s not for everyone.

Drew McIntyre’s sword is part of a gimmick given to him by Vince McMahon.

On the outside, it is used to create a cool image, but using a sword during battle is considered murder, or at least an assault with a deadly weapon, so it is never allowed.

During a recent podcast, Keepin’ It 100, Konnan spoke about former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, who lost to Seth Rollins in a title match on the first day of WWE Raw.

“I did think he looks super lame [and] corny … coming down with the sword named Angela. I know it’s [named] after his mom, but still. … What are you gonna do with that? You gonna impale somebody?”

Conan also talked about Drew McIntyre’s famous kilt look.

“I don’t see [anything] wrong with [McIntyre] wearing a kilt. He’s a Scotsman. … And I think they’re doing really interesting TV with him right now.”

Seth Rollins defeated McIntyre in a rematch on last Monday’s RAW to retain the World Heavyweight Championship on WWE Opening Day.

It was quite a match, so we’ll have to wait and see what everyone involved does next.

Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract also runs through 2024. It appears that he has not signed a new contract at this time.

That being said, they still have time to figure something out.
