WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley had a match with former WWE wrestler who just passed away.

Slam Wrestling first reported that former NWA and World Junior Heavyweight champion Les Thornton has passed away. He passed on February 1 at the age of 84.

A Facebook announcement later stated: “It is with great sadness we share that Les Thornton peacefully took his leave on February 1, 2019 at 11:15 am, with his devoted wife, Terry at his side. In honor of Les’ wishes there will be no funeral service. Instead, those wishing to pay respects are invited to make a donation to the Calgary Humane Society.”

The British wrestling star was known for his work across the globe, including Stampede Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance, Texas, Georgia, and Los Angeles. He held the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship five separate times. He later joined the WWF after the purchase of Georgia Championship Wrestling. There he became an undercard talent and also coordinated international shows for the promotion in the Middle East.

Les Thatcher posted the following message on Twitter on Les Thornton.
