The build to next month’s Royal Rumble WWE Network special took a pleasant but unexpected turn Monday night. When Stephanie McMahon announced WWE would hold their first women’s Royal Rumble match at the 2018 edition of the pay-per-view, the news was welcomed by nearly everyone.

Finally something every single wrestling fan could agree on? It’s a Holiday miracle.

Four-time Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks should be one of the leaders to win the first female Rumble. In a new interview Banks gave insight if she or anyone knew when the first women’s Royal Rumble would officially happen.

Speaking with USA Today, Banks revealed that nobody in the locker room or the ring knew for sure the Royal Rumble announcement was coming on Monday.

“Yeah they didn’t tell us, they just said that Stephanie would be coming out… but I kind of figured. I don’t know, I just had that assumption that it was going to be something big, just because we were in the main event. I’m pretty smart, I like to think, so I assumed that it was going to be this huge announcement, and it was really cool because in the front row was my mom and my brother.”

Banks would go on to reveal her real WrestleMania dream; to compete in an one on one Women’s championship match at the company’s biggest event.

“I feel like every pay-per-view, the women just keep on getting opportunities and breaking down those doors and showing the world that we can do it just like the guys, you know?

It’s so cool to see, and what makes me really excited is we could potentially see a singles match at WrestleMania for the women’s championship, which is my dream. I just want to have that one-on-one match at WrestleMania.

So I’m praying to God that I win the Royal Rumble, but I know that the competition is going to be so hard.”

Banks does make a great point, when was the last time the WWE’s women’s or Diva’s championship was defended in a singles match at WrestleMania?

In a similar development, Sasha Banks has hinted that she would love to move to the SmackDown LIve brand.

Addressing a Tweet by former SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya, Banks alluded that she’d like to come to SmackDown Live.

In reference to the same, Natalya congratulated Flair on winning the matchup and proving that the blue brand’s Women’s belt is, in fact, the WWE’s top title; besides adding that she’s now more determined to regain her belt from ‘Queen’ Flair.

Replying to Natalya’s social media post, Sasha Banks simply stated, that she be allowed to ‘come to blue’ — the term ‘blue’ generally being associated with the SmackDown brand.

Sasha Banks presently performs for the WWE’s RAW brand and is yet to officially move to SmackDown…if at all.

However, the WWE may have another ‘Superstar Shakeup’ before the end of this year despite the fact that they had one a few months ago. If ‘Superstar Shakeup’ is done, possibly, The Boss might just be moved to SmackDown Live to give her room to showcase her talents more.
