Triple H Opens Up On Copeland’s Exit To WWE

Edge surprised many WWE fans when he decided to leave the company. It didn’t take long for Adam Copeland to arrive at AEW as a full-time star.

Triple H was clearly paying attention, but he didn’t seem upset by how things turned out.

Wrestling News plus exclusively reported in August that there was a belief within WWE that Edge was headed to AEW. Shortly after, Sean Sapp reported that it was also believed within AEW that Tony Khan would sign Adam Copeland.

During the press conference following WWE Fastlane, Triple H was asked about Edge leaving WWE.

He answered very honestly because he probably saw this coming, just like many people in the company did.

“Time was right for him and time was right for us. I think he had an amazing send-off here.

I think he had felt like he had done what he had to do, and we felt, ‘you’re right.’ I think he said it the other say that there’s no animosity here.

He’s doing what’s right for him and his family, and I’m happy for him. I’m very, very happy for him.

I sent him that in a message, ‘I’m happy for him’ I’m proud of him and happy for him.”

“This has gotta be right for you, it’s a grind, and if any opportunity is better for them, great, that’s wonderful.

But, the machine doesn’t stop for anyone, right? We’re just gonna continue to grow and we’re gonna continue to do what we do.”

Triple H also said that Adam Copeland’s departure from WWE “creates an opportunity” and that “there is a pipeline of people capable” of taking Edge’s position in the company.

Only time will tell who will step up to truly fill the spot left by the Rated R superstar.
