Unexpected Twist On Dr Chris And CM Punk’s Defamation Suit

Published

on

CM Punk has a controversial history in pro wrestling, and some may hold a grudge against him.

When Chris Amann sued Second City Savior and Colt Cabana, one particular person went out of his way to make his position clear to CM Punk. He may have certain feelings about CM Punk’s return to WWE.

A lawsuit from Dr. Chris Ammann’s 2018 match against CM Punk and Colt Cabana was based on comments made by CM Punk on a 2014 Art of Wrestling Podcast episode where he discussed his grievances with WWE, including Dr. Ammann’s medical malpractice allegations.

It emanates from the beginning. Aman is WWE’s ring doctor. The defamation suit claimed that these comments had defamed Dr. Aman and caused harm to his reputation.

Last year, it was reported that Dr. Chris Ammann had retired from WWE. However, this does not seem to be the case as he is still with the company.

During the Fightful Q&A, Sean Sapp pointed out that Chris Ammann is still with WWE.

This contradicts reports about him, but he was on SmackDown last week. The topic came up when Sapp was asked if anyone in WWE is still upset about the controversial podcast “The Art of Wrestling.”

I would imagine that Chris Amann was pretty upset. He’s still around, he was at SmackDown even though there were reports of him retiring last year. He was there. There were pictures of him here.

After a highly publicized trial in June 2018, a jury ruled in favor of CM Punk and Colt Cabana, acquitting them of defamation charges and reinforcing freedom of expression in the digital age of podcasts and public debate.

CM Punk and Colt Cabana may have won, but their friendship with the Doctors was seriously damaged in the process.

We’ll have to see if there are any new notes on Dr. Chris after CM Punk returns.

If anything, they will probably stay away from each other.
