Why Roderick Strong Left WWE for AEW

Roderick Strong is one of the few remaining NXT veterans from the days when the top stars all came from the indie ranks.

Strong has a long history as an outstanding performer in the ring and is still able to deliver a good fight.

He came to AEW earlier this year and now it seems Strong has opened up about why he left WWE to join AEW.

Roderick Strong first appeared in the April 26 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he came to the rescue of Adam Cole during his feud with Chris Jericho. Strong hasn’t been able to do much since debut.

While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Roderick Strong talked about why he left WWE and eventually joined AEW.

“I really wanted to be with my buddies and with my wife. AEW reminded me so much what I loved about Ring of Honor, the collective ‘everybody wants it to be better.’”

In the end, he had to work in the same company as his wife and close friends in real life.
