WWE Advertises Special Match For Payback

WWE has a lot of plans in the works, but not a single payback card match has been confirmed yet.

That’s about to change soon, and just because there are no games announced doesn’t mean there isn’t anything lined up for the big show.

WWE Payback’s first match of the year seems to have been confirmed by recent commercials that aired on the international marketplace and the WWE Main Event.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

The announced duel will see Trish Stratus take on Becky Lynch in a steel cage match, as shown in the commercial below.

Earlier, Adam Pierce officially announced that Trish would be caged for the bout against Becky, though it was unclear where the fight would take place.

After Monday’s Raw, the confrontation escalated into the concession area, with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus in a match that ended in a double countout.

Zoe Stark, who had previously been kicked out of the ring, intervened by attacking Lynch and supporting Stratus.
After this, WWE Official Adam Pearce said their upcoming matchup would be in a steel cage.

However, no specific date was given. So far, WWE has yet to officially announce the tournament on its social media platforms or official website.
