WWE Files Motion To Delay Racism Lawsuit

Published

on

WWE was called out when former WWE reporter Britney Abrahams filed a lawsuit after being fired from WWE for taking a WrestleMania event chair without permission.

A lot has happened since then and the lawsuit was eventually dismissed. WWE is now filing a petition to stop the lawsuit.

Back in April, Abrahams filed the aforementioned lawsuit, alleging that WWE’s racist creative pitch actually contained substantial racist practices and creative aspects.

Named defendants in the lawsuit are WWE, Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan, Jennifer Pepperman,

Christine Lublano, Mike Heller, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.

As previously reported, Britney Abrahams has moved to dismiss the lawsuit against all listed individuals as WWE remains the sole defendant in the lawsuit, but not against WWE.

PW Insider reports that WWE and Abrahams have filed a joint motion extending the company’s response deadline to November 3.

World Wrestling Entertainment and Britney Abrahams filed a joint motioin before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on 8/25,

each jointly asking for the court to extend WWE’s due date to respond to Abrahams’ lawsuit against the company to 11/3/23.

Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr. signed off on that extension earlier today.

It added that the application was signed and approved by the court on August 28.

The lawsuit also alleges that Shane Thorne had the idea to hunt down Reggie like an animal and put him in a cage, but for good reason it never happened.

In any case, we will keep you updated on this ongoing incident.
