WWE Had Main Event Plans For Kenny Omega
WWE may have wanted to sign The Elite, but they were never even able to offer them a contract before AEW could lock them in on new deals.
The contracts were quite extensive and were negotiated by agent Barry Bloom,
but WWE still has plans for Omega if he agrees to give them a chance.
We previously reported that Kenny Omega was WWE’s Most Wanted Star, but they were unable to sign The Cleaner. All four members of The Elite are around AEW.
This is not to say that all problems are behind them. In the Wrestling Observer News, it was noted that WWE had scheduled Kenny Omega to work on the company’s main event.
This was an idea for The Cleaner to work with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and other industry leaders.
A person with knowledge of the WWE hobby pointed out to us that Omega would be used as a top guy, combined with the likes of Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar.
this is due to long-term physical endurance that makes them believe Rollins as the best ring fighter in the business has more time in that role than Omega.
While fans will never see Kenny Omega versus Brock Lesnar, that doesn’t mean The Cleaner’s story is over.
He will continue at AEW as Executive Vice President, and at 39, Omega has enough gas to continue at his current operating pace.
