Roman Reigns lost Money In The Bank which led to his trial. Roman Reigns had teased making Jey Uso the leader of the table last month, but that didn’t happen as he made it clear he would remain the tribe leader.

Later, Jey Uso challenged him at SummerSlam.

During a Trial Combat match during the WWE SummerSlam Premium live event, Jey Uso narrowly defeated Roman Reigns before Jimmy Uso interfered in the match and betrayed Jey Uso – costing him the match in the process.

Speaking of McGuire of Wrestling, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE never planned for Jey Uso to defeat Roman Reigns in a Trial Combat match.

“I never even heard anyone discuss that as a possibility.

I mean, obviously, they’ve already got whatever it is They’ve got plans going for Roman as champion for months down the line, so Jey wasn’t going to win.”
