WWE Star John Cena Reveals Retirement Plans

WWE icon John Cena has admitted that he doesn’t have much time left in wrestling and also frequently talked about the possibility of leaving.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Cena spoke again about his future in WWE.

At the age of 45, Cena realized that he was nearing the final stage of his own wrestling career and began considering an exit strategy from WWE.

He expressed his desire to give the best to the audience at every performance and emphasized the importance of making a meaningful contribution to the company.

“I do have almost two and a half decades of wisdom built up where I think I can offer a mentor perspective for sure. So, if I am not integrated with the WWE family moving forward and in perpetuity, then I think it’s a waste for everyone involved.”

Cena said he wants to do what’s best for WWE, whether it’s the Grand Finals, his final appearance, or any other role that could end his in-ring career.

He is open to suggestions from WWE on how to close this chapter of his career.

In addition to his in-ring career, Cena has expressed interest in becoming a mentor or coach in WWE.

I turned 47 this past year and I don’t have much time left in the WWE. You know, I’m trying to figure out when to close that chapter.

I wouldn’t be who I am — professionally or personally — without the WWE, and I promised myself that I would never simply just be there for my own sake.

Every time I perform, I want to give my all to the audience. And I’ve got to admit when I hit the 45 mark, I had to begin to try to form an exit strategy and I’m trying to work on that currently.”

With nearly 25 years of experience in the industry, he believes he can provide valuable guidance and perspective to his young talent.

Cena took part in a visit to the WWE Performance Center to demonstrate his commitment to supporting the next generation of WWE Superstars.

Although John Cena’s in-ring career is coming to an end, his legacy in WWE is well established, and he has served WWE in a variety of roles, perhaps as a mentor and coach to up-and-coming talent.
