AEW Receives Legal Letter Over ‘Being The Elite’ Skit

CM Punk and The Elite are never on the same page, and things really came to a head at last year’s All Out.

Punk, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks joined Brawl Out after the event, which they still deal with to this day.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the Young Bucks have been informed that AEW has received a legal letter regarding the Being the Elite skit.

It was said that the skit violated the terms of the agreement that they would not talk about CM Punk or the Brawl Out situation.

The report notes that CM Punk’s name was never mentioned, but the company still received a letter regarding the situation.

“AEW had informed The Young Bucks of a legal letter sent to the company that claimed they had violated the agreement from months back to not talk negatively about the other publicly (Adam Page was not part of the agreement).”

“Evidently it was from a BTE skit that was a storyline that had started years earlier about Matt Jackson screwing up an endorsement deal and was brought back where he had secured some sort of another deal that was going to make them all rich,

only to have that screw up and even with their new contract, they were left broke and couldn’t retire even if they wanted to, and they were all furious that they could never leave wrestling.

In the skit, they wanted Matt to apologize for screwing up. Punk’s name was never mentioned.”

It seems like this skit also has nothing to do with CM Punk or Brawl Out.

CM Punk was fired from AEW following his ordeal, leading to an investigation following All In London.

His sudden departure from AEW left behind stories that had to be rewritten. That being said, it appears there is still interest in Second City Savior’s services.

We previously reported that Impact Wrestling was excited about making CM Punk an offer.

We’ll have to see if he does anything there. There’s also a chance he could show up in the NWA and challenge for their world title.
