Chris Jericho Reveals How AEW Felt About CM Punk’s Return To WWE

CM Punk was fired from AEW in September after Punk got into a feud with Jack Perry backstage at AEW All In.

This ultimately led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk from AEW, but Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series last month.

Chris Jericho recently revealed AEW’s reaction to CM Punk’s return to WWE.

“It’s business as usual. It happens. It’s the same reason why I’m sure there wasn’t a big reaction when Adam Copeland came to AEW or when Will Ospreay signed with AEW or when Danielson, Moxley, and Adam Cole came to AEW.

It’s good for the business that guys have the ability to go between companies. It’s great for the fans and it’s great for the talent overall.

It just makes the business stronger and that’s the most important thing.”

After his WarGames match at the Survivor Series Premium Live event, The Second City Saint made his triumphant return to WWE, much to the excitement of the WWE Universe.

CM Punk and The Elite have had a number of issues since their backstage brawl at AEW All Out last year, which essentially laid the groundwork for Punk’s eventual departure.

Many were still saddened by Punk’s departure from Tony Khan’s company. AEW President Tony Khan also broke his silence on CM Punk’s return to WWE at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event.

CM Punk also plays a key role in opening the door for negotiations between WWE and Warner Bros. Discovery.

We’ll have to see how Punk’s bookings hold up in the coming weeks.
