And after a scan through the biggest card of Superstars available, the 49-year old semi-retired professional wrestler Bill Goldberg was picked.

Over a decade ago, Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg did a match at WrestleMania XX, that match was described as the worse match ever following the expectations from fans and the hyping and attention WWE gave the match. It was an anticlimax, oh yes, it was. Five minutes stare down and that was it all.

Now, with the card open owing to Superstars injuries, there are reports that former professional football player is already in talks with WWE for a match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32 and the odds are high that he would get the match.

The only block stumbling block that might stand on his way would be Triple H would Goldberg said he’s not a fan of.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was on Jim Ross’ podcast last week and he expressively stated that WWE should drop all personal issues and get Goldberg for a final sendoff, one he should but never got.

Austin said, “Oh, absolutely bring Bill Goldberg back. I’ve heard some chatter off [of] his Twitter account that he’s looking for a match and maybe that’s just rumor, but man, if there is a guy that deserves a send-off, that is Bill Goldberg.”

On the other hand Goldberg has personally addressed the return rumor. According to him, he has always wanted his son to have a chance to see him wrestle live.

“I don’t think there’s too much of a realistic possibility of me doing it but hey man I’m not gonna close the door on it.”
