NIKKI BELLA called off the wedding with John Cena because she wanted to work on herself.

Cena and Bella shocked the WWE Universe and the world of showbiz when they announced the end of their engagement last month after six years of dating.

They were expected to get married on May 5 in Mexico.

While promoting the upcoming season of Total Bellas, the ex-Divas Champion said that she still loves Cena and that they’re best friends.

Bella told Live with Kelly and Ryan: “John is such an amazing man and I just love him, and we’re best friends.When you go through wedding planning, you just start to go through a lot of issues that you’re hiding deep down inside.

“I realised that I really needed to work on me, because a better me is a better us. “The day I say those vows, I don’t want to have hesitation. I don’t want to have regret that I truly want to be with that person ’till death do us part.”

John Cena and Nikki Bella got engaged last year at WrestleMania 33 after beating The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

Their relationship was made public in the hit reality series Total Divas and Total Bellas where Cena repeatedly claimed he doesn’t want to get married or have children.

Bella recently revealed that she’s moved in with her twin sister Brie and Daniel Bryan.

The former celebrity couple’s next WWE appearance is unknown.
