Pro wrestling superstar, Kwaito Kid has passed away
One of World Wrestling Professionals’ (WWP) giants have passed away on in the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg.
According to a press release by WWP, Zama Njokweni, known as the Kwaito Kid, died from multiple organ failure.
“It is with deep sadness that WWP announces the passing away of one of its pro wrestling superstar, Zama Njokweni, better known by his wrestling name the Kwaito Kid. He will be missed not only by his family, but by his fellow wrestling brothers in the WWP and across the world, as well as by his many wrestling fans and followers. May his soul rest in peace,” it read.
Zama, who was born in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, began his training as a professional wrestler in the early 2000s, and showed tremendous talent. Within a short period of time, he made a very successful debut in Johannesburg, and quickly became a major crowd favourite.
He transformed into a main-event participator and went on to be crowned as the WWP All African Champion, a title he held for a number of months.
Zama went on to wrestle all over South Africa, as well as Africa, and appeared in numerous South African television shows, including Muvhango, Thunderstrike, Wrestlemonster and G-Force.
In India, he appeared on Colors TV, in the highly successful De Dhan Dhan weeky television show out of Mumbai.
The press release concluded with the following,
