According to The Hollywood Reporter, as the strike began in May 2023, entering its 20th week, Universal Studio Group made the decision to suspend these high-profile agreements.

The suspension comes amid a labor dispute between the Writers Guild and major studios and streaming platforms.

Universal Studio Group, which includes divisions such as Universal Television, Universal Content Productions and Universal Pictures, has reached out to its remaining writing and production partners to assess their readiness to offer non-production services – their writing in the context of the ongoing strike.

The strikes have disrupted normal Hollywood operations, affecting a number of deals, productions and schedules.

Interestingly, WWE remained relatively unaffected by these strikes because its writers are not members of the Writers Guild, allowing talents like John Cena to return to WWE television during this turbulent times.

The outcome of these strikes and their ultimate resolution will have a lasting impact on the entire entertainment industry, affecting major companies and their projects in Hollywood.
