Pacific Northwest legendary wrestler Rip Oliver went to be with the Lord today at 4 p.m (Eastern Standard Time). May the good Lord comfort his widow and three children, family & close friends. Rip is no longer suffering but we are deeply saddened by this news‬.

Oliver worked for Pacific Northwest Wrestling where he set a record for holding the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship more times than any other wrestler. He also held the tag team titles on many occasions.

Former WWF Star Rip Oliver Passes Away

The Wrestling legend Rip Oliver passed away but prior he made his way to the WWF later on in his career where he mostly worked as an enhancement talent. In early 2020, he entered hospice care due to heart failure. He passed away today.

The Cauliflower Alley confirmed this news with a post on their Facebook page.

BRIEF DETAILS ABOUT THE Legendary Wrestler Rip Oliver

Oliver was entered into hospice care in February due to end-stage heart failure and Cauliflower Alley Club broke the tragic news on their Facebook earlier today:

“Pacific Northwest legendary wrestler Rip Oliver went to be with the Lord today at 4 p.m (Eastern Standard Time). May the good Lord comfort his widow and three children, family & close friends. Rip is no longer suffering but we are deeply saddened by this news‬”

Oliver was mostly well-known for his work with Pacific Northwest Wrestling, holding the promotion’s Heavyweight Title on 12 separate occasions. Rip was known to be linked to PNW’s top star Buddy Rose and shared quite the alliance (and eventual rivalry) with Playboy throughout his run.

 

Rip also competed in WWF briefly as a jobber beginning in 1987, even wrestling Ultimate Warrior for the Intercontinental Championship under the alias of Super Ninja on an episode of WWF Saturday Night Main Event.
