Torrie Wilson Reveals Reason Behind Shunning Wrestling After WWE Exit

Torrie Wilson is one of the women who paved the way for today’s female superstars and remains one of the most popular women in the industry.

She also took a long break from wrestling after leaving WWE, and now Wilson has revealed the reason for her hiatus.

Torrie Wilson retired from professional wrestling in 2008 after leaving WWE. Despite her retirement, she occasionally performed for theater groups.

In 2019, Wilson received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In a conversation with Chris Van Vleet, Torrey Wilson opened up about his post-traumatic stress disorder after quitting wrestling, which he attributed to feeling exposed and vulnerable on television.

“That’s taken a long time (to allow myself to reflect on my career). I didn’t watch wrestling, I didn’t want anything to do with wrestling for many years after I left.

Mostly because I just had a certain amount of P.T.S.D. from being so vulnerable out there and feeling like I was put in this kind of, like, raunchy role that wasn’t me, and I felt judgment from people.

I felt like people look down on me for like, just, stuff that I did, the bra and panty matches and all that so,

I just wanted to shut that door and for many years, I didn’t watch and it wasn’t until they called me to do the Royal Rumble that I started to kind of catch up and then I got really into it, like more into it than I ever was when I was wrestling.”

She avoided anything related to her wrestling for many of her years, and she felt uncomfortable with her shallow role and others’ evaluation of her.

It wasn’t until she was asked to compete in the Royal Rumble that Wilson began to get involved with wrestling again, and she eventually developed a new interest in the professional wrestling industry.

Torrie Wilson’s illustrious career and contributions to the professional wrestling industry will continue to resonate with fans and colleagues for years to come.

From her iconic run in WWE to numerous awards and championships, Torrie has cemented her place in wrestling history.

Only time will tell if she returns to WWE again. That would definitely make the fans happy.
