Feranando Torres has extended his contract with Laliga giant Atletico Madrid, The club made the announcement in their website confirming the deal as true. This extension was prompted following his fantastic contribution to the team with his improve performance which lead them to the final of the Champions League.

The superstar started his carrier with the Atletico Madrid playing for six years, before moving to England were he featured with great club like Chelsea and Liverpool, the most memorable spell being his time at Liverpool, which brought him to the spotlight.

The striker was exceptional while at Liverpool before moving to Chelsea, were He struggled to find his scoring boot, scoring only 20 goals in 110 appearances for the blues. But the persistence he show in AC Milan as brought him back to fame as he is now a key instrument in Atletico Madrid tactics.

Notwithstanding his comeback Spain National team still left him out in their squad which went for Euro 2016. Torres was key in Spain triumph in 2008 and 2012. The striker netted the winner which gave them the victory of that tournament, one they have longed for 44 years.

The striker said to news men on interview, he spoke saying “ I am delighted to be in my house, this is the place where I always wanted to be. I never had doubts where I wanted to be apart from here”

As per the reports of the official page of Atletico Madrid, their sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero said, “This is great news for everyone because he is a man of our house and the followers of Atletico Madrid are delighted that he would be playing for the side once again. Torres knows the club pretty well, and the players in our academy would be provided with good advice by him. He is a man with tremendous experience, and is used to winning titles and competes at the highest level.”
