Why WWE Allowed The LWO To Use Eddie’s Theme Song

WWE always brings back it’s popular stables and gimmicks in order to sell more merchandise and develop more prospects.

Ahead of WrestleMania 39, Rey Mysterio Legado del Fantasma proposed working together to restore the Latino world order.

Santos Escobar, who has been with him for a while, seems to have revealed why WWE allowed Eddie Guerrero to use the entrance song.

WWE reintroduced the LWO stable just before WrestleMania 39 and has continued Eddie Guerrero’s legacy ever since.

Fans were surprised by Legado del Fantasma’s adoption of a babyface, but this time they warned up to the stable. Speaking with Steve Faure on Ten Count, Santos Escobar revealed why WWE allowed Eddie’s old theme song to be used.

Santos then reveals the real reason he used Eddie Guerrero’s opening theme.

“You asked about the song? About Viva La Raza?

Rey and I thought that it was very important to have something that pay homage to the original creator of the group, which was Eddie [Guerrero].

And anything short than wearing his gears in the ring, the Viva La Raza was probably the most iconic phrase, at least to our people.”

Triple H also initially rejected the offer to bring LWO back to WWE. They are still popular babyfaces, so it remains to be seen what the company plans to do with this faction.

After all, even Conan intends to rejoin the faction at some point.
