Randy Orton has been out of action for more than a year due to back surgery, but his long-awaited return to WWE has become a hot topic. But there’s a catch here. His return is no secret and has caused quite a stir.

This big announcement was made during Monday Night RAW, courtesy of Cody Rhodes, who announced Randy Orton as the fifth member of his Survivor Series team.

While some fans were excited, others felt the exciting surprise should be kept a secret.

But wait, because WWE had a strategic plan. On the latest episode of the Hall of Fame Podcast, pro wrestling legend Booker T intervened to defend WWE’s decision to ruin Orton’s return.

You know, a surprise would’ve been great, but I’m sure someone would’ve broken on Twitter that Randy Orton has been spotted in Chicago.

I’m sure of that. There’s no way around that. So these days, trying to surprise someone, you might just be shooting yourself in the foot.

Everybody [should] know [sic] that Randy Orton is gonna be there so they could tune in and buy it more than anything.

More importantly, you want the Randy Orton fans to know he’s going to be there.”

This is a new era, folks. In the age of instant information, the age of surprise in professional wrestling may be fading.

WWE didn’t want fans to expect a surprise appearance from CM Punk at a premium live event, so they decided to reveal Orton’s return instead.

The wrestling world is currently buzzing with anticipation for a rematch with Randy Orton after his long hiatus.

Will he be able to prove that he is still the apex predator, or will a new star rise to the challenge? Stay tuned!
