Last episode of the WWE Monday Night RAW we saw a match between The New Day’s Big E and Kofi against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows and the match were to compete for the #1 tag team champions but it was reported that Big E of the New Day sustained an injury during the match and was rushed back stage for checkups medically. After the whole thing, WWE did not give any report concerning his injury as at then but later on they reported how severe it was.

It was revealed that Xavier Woods was not with the New Day at the match because he was banned by the WWE and the match was carried out by the remaining superstars, Big E and Kofi.

According to source, The New Day got decimated in a brutal post-match attack by The Club on last week’s episode of Raw. They hammered all three members and ever beat down Xavier Woods in front of his parents who were at ringside. They ended the attack by grabbing Big E’s legs and pulling him into the ring-post, thereby ‘injuring’ his ‘deal’. WWE initially revealed the ‘injury’ earlier this week indicating how severe the injury is.

In an update earlier today, WWE seemingly confirmed the injury although it is most probably part of their storyline with The Club. WWE’s statement said:

WWE.com can now confirm that Big E suffered a contusion to the affected area. It is unknown at this time when the WWE Tag Team Champion will return to in-ring competition.

At this point, it looks like Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston will have to defend the Tag-Team Championships at SummerSlam without Big E which makes it the ideal scenario for The Club who will no longer be outnumbered and with Big E out, The Club are now most definitely the favourites to win. The New Day are now on the longest WWE Tag-Team Championship reign of all time which began at last years’ SummerSlam.
