We are saddened to report the passing away of yet another WWE star who has in no little measures influenced the world, through his excellent sporting prowess and knacks.

The three-time world heavyweight boxing champion, Muhammad Ali was 74-year old when death strangled him over the weekend, precisely on June 3, 2016.

Ali made his mark in quite a number of sports including wrestling. He wrestled against WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki in Tokyo on June 26, 1976 – a match which was regarded as groundbreaking and unmatched especially as the match was described as a forerunner to modern mixed martial arts.

Ali did stop there, he officiated the first WrestleMania at Madison Square Garden in 1985. He function as special guest referees for the match between WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and pop culture icon Mr. T against “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

The match was so dramatic that Ali climbed the top of the ring apron and took a swing at Piper.

In Olympics, won six Kentucky Golden Glove Championships and the gold medal for the United States as a light heavyweight in Rome’s 1960 Summer Olympics before beginning his professional career.

WWE extends its condolences to Ali’s family, friends and fans.
