Considering Vince McMahon has been around forever in the WWE, it’s easy to assume that it takes a great deal to leave him seriously impressed.
While he might be pleased with short-term success the characters have in the WWE, it’s more than likely that the superstars that remain relevant the most will be the ones he keeps his eye on.

Evidently, there would be a lot that goes into impressing Vince.
It might need to be a character he’s on board with, being good in the ring, microphone skills, the ability to sell merchandise, representing the company positively outside of WWE – it’s not just one thing that would make him push a superstar.
Getting respect from him, though, is a different situation.
While there’s no official blueprint on what it takes to get somebody as influential as Vince to respect superstars, Chris Jericho has revealed what it takes to gain that respect.
Chris Jericho – who now competes for NJPW in Japan – recently caught up with WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross on The Ross Report podcast.
According to Chris Jericho, Vince McMahon puts the onus back on the superstars to get an angle over with the fans through their performances – he doesn’t force it himself.
Along with this, he claimed that Vince has respect for those superstars if they have a good track record of ideas and ways in which they can get over with the fans.
If they have a good track record, the respect is there, and they’re able to run with any good ideas they have.
According to Wrestling Inc, he said: “In my case, he made me a lot of money. I made him a lot of money in return.
“And there is some give-and-take as far as, ‘I think this idea is better.’ And, again, nine times out of 10, if talent really feels it and Vince [McMahon] has respect for you because you have a good track record with ideas with him, he’ll go with it.
“But even still, once in a while, ‘Vince wants this,’ and you’re like, ‘Alright, there’s only so much I can do!’ And that’s it. And it’s your job. If you’re an actor and you go get a part in a Steven Spielberg movie, and you don’t like the script, you don’t go up to Steven Spielberg and go, ‘Hey, Steven, this doesn’t work for me. I need to change this.’ ‘F*** off, man. I’ll get someone else to play this part.'” Jericho added.
“It’s only wrestling, man. And we do the best we can with what we’re given and the part we’re supposed to play. And you can put your two cents in it and even for me sometimes, I’ll come up with ideas that Vince goes, ‘They don’t work!’ But you do the best you can with what you’re given.
“And at the end of the day, as long as people are making noise and go home with a smile on their face, and feeling they’ve got their money’s worth, that’s all that matters.”
It turns out Vince does give superstars a chance to get their ideas across.
Considering we’ve seen so many incarnations of Chris Jericho in WWE, it’s safe to say that Vince respects him enough to allow those changes to go ahead.
