On Friday, former WWE Divas and Women’s Champion Melina wrestled for the first time since 2012 at a women’s wrestling show in Covina, California.
Appearing for Stardom, Melina partnered with Santana Garrett in a tag team match against Thunder Rosa and Hudson Envy. Garrett pinned Rosa with the springboard moonsault at 16:19, according to Stardom’s page on Facebook. Melina was advertised to appear at the show, but as a referee for a tag team match.

Before Friday, Melina had not wrestled since September 2012 (against former WWE Diva Jillian Hall at an independent show in Pennsylvania). Since that match, she would refer to herself on social media as a former wrestler, even as recently as last week.

Melina returned to the independent circuit in the spring and appeared on the season finale of Lucha Underground that aired in August. On the episode, she assisted Johnny Mundo in a match against Alberto El Patron by hitting the six-time world champion with a title belt while the referee was knocked down. She has also made appearances for Maryland Championship Wrestling in recent months as both a manager and enforcer.
