Hulk Hogan helped launch WWE (then WWF) into global prominence. His rivalry with fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Andre the Giant, is considered one of the best feuds of all time.

They made history at WrestleMania 3 in 1987 where Hogan defeated Andre with ‘the body slam heard around the world,’ and retained his world title.

Recently, Hogan shared an emotional throwback. He revealed that Andre and him did not always see eye-to-eye. In fact, Hogan revealed his actions used to get him in trouble with the Boss. But in the end, the feud taught both of them some valuable lessons.

“We had our differences, and it really wasn’t fun when the Boss was pi**ed off at me, but it was a very serious learning curve and in the end, we were like brothers Love U, Boss R.I.P. You were the best! HH,” Hogan wrote.

A few days ago, Hogan shared another tribute on the death anniversary of Andre. It’s 28th year since ‘the eighth wonder of the world’ passed away because of heart failure.

Hogan revealed that Andre taught him to respect the craft of wrestling along with fan interaction. He wrote, “28yrs ago Andre passed, my big brother, he taught me respect for our business and also taught me how to work using my instincts and my connection with the crowd.”

It is well known that Andre the Giant did not hold back in matches against certain opponents. One of Andre the Giant’s former co-workers, Jacques Rougeau, recalled to SK Wrestling’s Chris Featherstone recently how the Frenchman did not like Big John Studd.

Atlas, who worked for WWE at the same time as Andre the Giant, says the WWE legend also disliked Hulk Hogan. He told Boston Wrestling MWF’s Dan Mirade that Hogan once ran out of an arena after a match against The Eighth Wonder of the World.

“I don’t know what happened between them, but I do know I was in Japan. Andre had to wrestle Hogan. Andre beat him so bad, and Hogan ran out the arena with his wrestling trunks on and was afraid to come back and get his clothes.”

Tony Atlas also claimed that Hulk Hogan was scared to look at Andre the Giant during their contract signing at the 1988 Royal Rumble. The signing took place 10 months after Hulk Hogan defeated Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III.

“If you watch the tape when Andre was staring Hogan down when they were signing for the match… Ted DiBiase’s at the table with them.

Look at him. Hogan was afraid to look Andre in the face. Look at it. You can see it on tape. He was fretting, he was nervous.”
