Significant Changes In WWE Contract Handlings After TKO Merge

Published

on

WWE and UFC got merged, which was quite a surprise for 2023. The pro wrestling business continues and contracts are part of the conversation. It seems like some talent deals can be approached differently.

Sean Sapp notes behind Fightful’s paywall that “WWE has a lot of contracts coming out in 2024, but their approach to renewals seems to be different lately.” »

Fightful has learned that numerous talent, including several top stars, have not been approached for contract extensions.

WWE signed dozens of wrestlers to new deals in 2019 that are expiring, but also some that were shorter-term are coming due in 2024.

WWE has top talent with expiring deals all throughout the year.

Most of the talent we’ve spoken to were of the belief that the recent merger with Endeavor will kickstart a lot of the contract talks,

and several of them are waiting to see what the offers are like when that happens, but it hasn’t happened yet.

There have been a few negotiations here and there, but usually with talent who approach WWE for raises.

The report goes on to say that several high-profile contracts with WWE Superstars are in the works and everyone is very interested to see how this new situation will handle the process.

WWE has its own way of handling contracts, but now TKO will get the first chance. It should be further noted that WWE talent appeared curious and engaged in discussions about what this could mean for their upcoming negotiations.

They are wondering whether the proposed offers will increase, decrease, or remain consistent with their previous agreements after the merger.
