Another record is set in the sports world as Australia produces its first World Boxing Heavyweight Champion.

The Aussie, Lucas Browne, stopped Ruslan Chagaev short of gaining the boxing title in the 10th round. He began the tournament on a slightly low rating and gradually worked his way up.

The fight began in favor of Chagaev, who handled Browne with an iron fist until a sudden change showed up. In the 10th round, after a series of downing punches, Browne recovered unexpectedly and dealt Chagaev a right hook counter that brought him down as when a tree is felled.
