WWE To Bring Back Popular Match At NXT’s Deadline

Published

on

WWE’s final premium live event of the year, Deadline, will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

This event was worth watching and a great way to end the year for the NXT brand. At WWE NXT No Mercy, they announced that the Deadline premium live event would see the return of the Iron Survivor Match.

This will definitely get fans excited. The Iron Survivor Challenge was a concept introduced to the NXT roster as part of the first NXT Deadline card, featuring men’s and women’s matches to determine the #1 contender for the Championship NXT and NXT Women’s Championship, respectively.

You can see the rules for the Iron Survivor match below.

* Two superstars will start the match and every five minutes a new superstar will enter the match until all five are in the ring.

* The goal is to have the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes.

* Falls can be won at any time via pinfall, submission or disqualification.

* When a superstar scores a fall they will earn one point.

* However, when a superstar loses a fall, that superstar must pay the penalty. They are forced out of the ring and into a penalty box for 90 seconds.

* Once the 90 seconds are up, the superstar can re-enter the match.

* The superstar who has scored the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes will be named the Iron Survivor and become the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship respectively.

We’ll have to see who gets booked for the Iron Survivor Match. The Deadline event will likely feature a number of standout matches as WWE continues to focus on NXT.
