WWE’s Relationship With Fox Goes South

Published

on

WWE and FOX were in talks to keep SmackDown on the network, but things doesn’t seem to be going so well.

Their period of exclusivity negotiations has ended and there are now signs that FOX may be leaving WWE.

FOX’s Out of Character podcast is a great place for WWE superstars to sit down and interview Ryan Satin, mostly via video call.

The show made some headlines over the years, but now it’s coming to an end.

PW Insider reports that FOX is canceling the Out of Character podcast.

“FOX is shutting down their “Out of Character” WWE podcast, which certainly would lead some to believe that means the WWE-FOX relationship is starting to wind down.

It was the only ancillary FOX-WWE programming in recent months beyond random one hour weekend afternoon TV specials, none of which appear to be on the horizon.”

This likely indicates that negotiations are progressing and FOX might be severing ties with WWE.

Someone will definitely want both RAW and SmackDown, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens next with WWE.

There are many competitors, some of whom have a lot of money. WWE is open all the time.

The big question is whether WWE SmackDown will end on the streaming service or opt for another TV network.

As WWE continues to push forward with its epic merger with Endeavor, we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.
