Recently WWE Legend Chris Jericho was asked during an interview with What Culture to comment on his in-ring future with WWE and whether he sees himself retiring any time soon. Chris Jericho acknowledged the fact that his next match, whether it’s at a live event or a WWE pay-per-view, may lead him to retirement.

Jericho stated that he doesn’t want a retirement match, which is against the WWE’s tradition which states that whenever a wrestler of that status decides to hang up his boots and trunks, a retirement match to mark his departure would be held in his honor. WWE always wants to give them a big sendoff. It’s also something that the wrestling fans want as well. But it didn’t take us by surprise that Jericho has decided to take the opposite route.

He said:
“There will never be a retirement match. I’ll never have one. When I’m finished, it might be a house show in Wolverhampton [England], but when I’m done, I’ll know it and that’s it. There will be no retirement tour, no retirement match, no big WrestleMania sendoff. I don’t believe in that either. I think when you’re done, you’re done and I don’t need somebody to pat me on the back and say how great I am. I’d rather just ride off into the sunset and just disappear and that’s probably what’ll happen. It might’ve already happened. You don’t know!”

While you try to remember when last you saw Jericho in action, we have this card to show that the last time he was in the ring was in September, when he joined forces with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to stage war against the Wyatt Family. After that very match with the Wyatt Family something “crazy” happened between Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose which ushered a fresh thought into the mind of fans that the two who confronted each other after the match with the Wyatt Family might have a match soon, most likely at WrestleMania 32.

However, if Jericho is hanging up his boots and trunks, it would most likely be after the biggest WrestleMania of all-time in terms of attendance, and Dean Ambrose would certainly be a “Chris Jericho-worthy” opponent, wouldn’t he?
